First we would like to say welcome back! We know it has been two months since we last posted but we have been hard at work here in our shop. Last time we spoke was at the end of November and we had just passed our design freeze. During December, we were hard at work finalizing orders so that when January came around we could hit the ground running and start the ER03 assembly process.
The majority of January, the team welded our chassis, machining the suspension components, and assembled various other systems. January wasn't all work however. On January 28th and 29th, Daytona International Speedway hosted the 55th running of the Rolex 24. Most of our team bought tickets and spent an average of 16 of the 24 hours at the racetrack. Through chilly temperatures of 35 degrees and rain many of us stayed in the stands enjoying the race. During the race we had students from Blue Hen Racing, the FSAE team of the University of Delaware, reach out to us. Following the race, we invited Blue Hen Racing into our shop and spent an hour and a half duscussing our past cars, our current projects, and our plans for future vehicles. It was a great opportunity for both of our teams to come together and bond over a common passion. Earlier, on January 20th, one of our team members was invited out to the Rymfire Elementary School in Palm Coast, Florida. At this event our team member was able to demonstrate his passion for automotive racing to students from kindergarten all the way to 6th grade. We are very honored to have been given the opportunity to participate in this event and help encourage these young minds in their pursuits.
On another note, ERAU Motorsports is proud to announce our new partners that have joined the team: Hendrick Honda of Daytona, The Volusia Manufacturers Association, and SKF Bearings. Thank you to all our partners that allow us to continue our program and provide students an opportunity to continue their education! That's all we have for now. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements of great things to come. If you haven't done so already, follow us on Facebook and Instagram for more frequent progress updates. See our media tab for thee links to our social media. Have a great day!
